Paper is a relatively new medium for this team of artists: the qualities of Japanese Washi paper – seemingly delicate and translucent but with long fibres and strength when wet, have led Fly Freeman to explore the medium more thoroughly. She typically stretches the paper over wooden frames, and light has become an important part of this exploration, with the arrival of neat systems of RGB LEDs, which allow control of the colour of the light.
The team has worked on large installations of paper and wood such as ‘Prayers like Flags’, as well as studio work and smaller studies, such as ‘Falling Cubes’
